Just So-so : iTouchless Fully Automatic White Color Touchless Trashcan SX, 13 Gallon (52 Liter)

Ok, so I've read everyone's review and will say, up front, that everyone is right about the inside of the can ripping/shredding garbage bags with its flawed design. Whoever designed the inside of the can needs to be fired. There's triangular "teeth" that serve no discernable function other than to make life miserable when it comes time to empty the trash. My solution? I just used thick duct tape around the inside of the rim to cover up the "teeth" and now everything's fine. No problems taking out the bag. As for the claims about the sticker on the can and having trouble getting it off, I ordered mine through Amazon and it did not come with ANY stickers on it. Maybe someone from the company read the reviews here on Amazon? : ) Lastly, the complaints about how "loud" it is and how slow the automatic opener is, I don't think the opening/closing noise is any worse than others that I've had, and the speed of the opening/closing door was fine once I put in brand new Duracells. I, for one, am very happy with this trash can. It holds A LOT of garbage because it's about 6 inches taller than the traditional can. Would I buy it again? Absolutely!

Then the lid started occasion only sporadically so we substituted the batteries & cleaned & lubricated the mechanism but it still only opens thoroughly only about a quarter of the time. It is very difficult to open the lid manually. Maybe we wore it out by walking by it as it would open every time we passed it. Also, my cousin had one that stopped working shortly after he bought it, too.

Much great than the old one : iTouchless 13 Gallon Square Stainless Steel extra-Wide Opening Touchless Trash Can MX

I had the former iTouchless trashcan for 5 years. I loved it and every person else loved it. I had to buy other one because someone acidentally broke the lid. I wasn't too upset since I gotten 5 good years out of it and felt it was time to upgrade anyway. So I went for this one with the wider lid. I positively love this one. It is positively much quieter than the former and the lid is undoubtedly much wider. The new look is easy which I like a lot. every person who comes over likes this one way a lot great than the old one. I bought this one from Amazon because it was cheaper than buying it directly from the commerce website. I would advise this trashcan to anyone who doesn't want to all the time touch their trashcans. I know you have to press a button to keep it open if you have a lot to throw away at once but I don't have to use it very often so the button stays very clean. The kids also enjoying cleaning up because it's fun for them to see the trashcan "magically" open up.

You'll regret it., November 23, 2009 By Olivia (Boston, Ma) - See all my reviews I bought this automatic trash can because I opinion it would be more hygienic since I would not need to touch the lid. However, as other reviewers wrote, it's so badly designed, and is full of problems. I bough this two months ago and am planning to get a step-on trash bin this weekend and "trash" this piece of garbage. If you want to know more, here are the main problems I had with this product. Problem #1: highly bad design. You can't get the trash out smoothly, and roughly all the time, the trash bag gets ripped, so you end up leaning the trash can, yourself and kitchen floor. Problem #2: Frequent battery change. The trash can itself is not cheap, but you have to keep buying 4 D-size batteries every 2-3 months. It adds up. Also it's no ifs ands or buts hard to take off the panel to change the battery. I all the time end up asking my husband to do it after so much struggles trying to open the panel. Problem #3: Too sensitive sensor. The sensor is so sensitive and it opens up everytime you pass by and it takes 4 seconds to close it. It means the odor of the trash comes out and fills up your kitchen. Problem #4: Bad for children. The height is about the same height with my 1-year-old and he is amuzed by this trash can. He can open it so easily, so he tried to put things into the trash can. Also you don't want your 1-year-old to be exposed to the smell and possibly touch the trash inside. Hope this helps. I decided to write a delineate because I feel tricked by good reviews for this product. I read them prior to purchasing this product and feel betrayed by them. I regret that I bought this so much.
